SERVICES

Coastline Design Inc. provides full-service restaurant space planning and design documentation for new builds, remodels, and conversions across Southern California and beyond. From a single concept sketch to a complete construction-ready drawing set, our work is grounded in three decades of experience designing kitchens and dining rooms that actually run.

Restaurant Space Planning. A successful restaurant begins with a thoughtful floor plan. We develop layouts that balance the needs of the front of house — guest experience, seating capacity, sightlines, and circulation — with the operational demands of the back of house, where workflow, equipment placement, and staff movement directly drive efficiency and profitability. Each site is evaluated for its strengths and constraints, then dining areas, bars, kitchens, prep stations, dishwashing, dry storage, walk-ins, and service corridors are planned so every square foot earns its place.

Our space planning accounts for local building codes, ADA accessibility, health-department clearances, ventilation and exhaust requirements, and the operational rhythm of the concept — whether quick-service, casual, fine dining, or institutional foodservice. The result is a plan that supports the menu, the brand, and the bottom line on day one and grows with the business.

Design Documents. Coastline Design Inc. produces the complete set of construction and equipment documents needed to take a project from concept to opening day. Deliverables include foodservice equipment plans, plumbing rough-in drawings, electrical rough-in drawings, mechanical and ventilation diagrams, floor finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, walk-in details, exhaust hood schedules, and a fully specified equipment schedule with manufacturer cut sheets.

Every drawing set is coordinated with architects, contractors, and local jurisdictions to streamline plan check, permitting, and field inspection. Clear, complete documents reduce change orders, accelerate construction, and ensure that the kitchen built in the field matches the kitchen we designed on paper.
